Professional Faucet Inspection and Repair in Colorado Springs

The faucets in the house are such a common feature that we use them without a second thought, except of course when something goes wrong. Or some people have gotten used to the faults in their home faucets because they’ve had to live with them for years. Plumbers who perform Faucet Inspection in Colorado Springs, usually identify a faucet problem quickly enough. There is, after all, a rather short list of possible defects involved.

1. Cross-Connection: This problem occurs in modern and retrofitted faucet connections employing flexible conduits instead of actual piping. In this particular case, it’s when the leads for hot and cold water are reversed, with the conduit for the hot water connecting into the valve for the cold water and vice-versa.

2. Hot-Cold Taps Reversed: This is a more common error in the assembly of the faucet and its parts during installation, in which the taps are secured onto the wrong valves.

3. Loose Connection: This problem involves an improperly tightened coupling which can allow water to leak while the faucet is in use. This is wasteful of water and, in the end, money which piles up on the water bill from wastage.

4. Noisy Faucet: This is a problem which can have one of several causes, from pipes that are too small to allow free water flow, to clogging of the lines by built up scale and other residues, to an issue with the washer causing whistling or chattering noises when the washer seat is clogged with residue.

5. Obstructed Aerator: The aerator is the final component of a kitchen or bathroom faucet with a little screen covering the opening which allows water to flow through. Residue can clog this part and restrict the flow or cause a leak through the coupling.

6. Shower Diverter Inoperative or Defective: This problem involves the valve which shuts off the main faucet and diverts water to the shower head not working properly or not working at all.

7. Stiff or Frozen Taps: This problem results from extreme residue and scale buildup interfering with the valves, preventing them from being turned.
